Dear Members of the Sociology of Development Section:
Happy new year! We have three very important reminders for you as we kick off 2017:
1. ASA SUBMISSIONS
Paper submissions for the 2017 Annual Meetings in Montreal are due this Wednesday, January 11th. Submission information is available here:
http://www.asanet.org/annual-meeting-2017/submit-2017-call-papers
2. SECTION MEMBERSHIP
Please renew your ASA membership ASAP, and especially your membership in our section. The Sociology of Development section works hard for its members by increasing publication outlets, promoting scholars’ research to the public, hosting an annual conference, supporting internal interest groups, and mentoring young scholars. One of the most important things you can do for our section each year is simply sign up as a member, and encourage your colleagues and students to join as well. The more members we have, the more opportunities we can create for development scholars and scholarship.
Renew your membership here: http://www.asanet.org/membership
3. SECTION AWARDS
Feeling pretty good about that article you wrote? Did your book manuscript finally make it to publication? Then this is your year to nominate yourself for a Sociology of Development Award! Please see the call for nominations, below. You can also read the call here:
